Word on the street is that a new PR outfit is starting in town. Pulse Communications is a subsidiary of WPP that apprently specialize in consumer PR and is part of Ogilvy PR. Specialization is fine but one can’t help wondering whether there is a human resource base for all that specialization and sgmentation of the PR market. last hear of Pulse was looking to hire senior PR consultants. Good luck. They’re pretty thin on the ground here.
Their e-mail domain name is also a bit of a mystery. it is pulse-indo.com. Now if you do a http://www.pulse-indo.com you get a company selling electrical equipment. One, however, shouldn’t presume that a PR company would not do its internet research before setting up, but thn nothing shocks Unspun anymore these days.
Hello,
Just wanted to give a friendly wave to Mr. Unspun
Minor clarification, we are part of WPP and reporting to Ogilvy but are a different division from Ogilvy PR. But it’s a great big friendly family!
We’re working on our website, and I guess we should put up a holding page as it seems our registrar has put one up to their advantage: a link farm – so anyone going to our site will find links that have nothing to do with PR. Thanks for letting us know!
See you at the client pitches
Cheers,
Vishnu K. Mahmud

Vishnu: Yes, I’m familiar with Martin Sorrel’s pitch about “kiss and punch”. So you have one big happy but bruised family smiling for the camera.
Don’t think you’ll see us at pitches because we don’t pitch anymore, unless its a very straegic piece of business. most of the time pitching is a waste of time since the clients asking for one nornally do not understand there is only way you can be sure of the Pr firm you choose: ask around the market, especially the PR firm’s present clients. The rest is spin.
Interesting spate of postings this week. Glad to see you’re helping out the competition. Or maybe they’re not competition — yet. Nice post on the JP too.
Ganesha: We love competition. Let the games begin.
