Being a boy and thus loving gadgets Unspun got the Treo 680. It’s slimmer than the 680, does away with the antenna and has crap for batteries. But that’s not what Unspun needs help on.
Unspun‘s been so far unsuccessful in using the Treo 680 as a dialup modem with my Mac. I have Telkomsel as the provider. Apparently you need a special script for the Treo 680 to act effectively as a modem but the Treo shops and reps say they know nothing about it. Any tech savvy savior out there that can tell me what to do? The Palm forum doesn’t help.

Planned to get the 680 but heard scary stories about battery and camera (apparently cam sucks batteries and software patch kills the cam) So may get he 650 instead and have the antenna castrating me.

One of two reasons for me using Safari. … the other integration with DevonThink (every journalist needs it).

Victor: Thanks. I’ve tried the suggestions there but what I lack is the CID string for Telkomsel. The Telkomsel people do not seem to know what its all about. Neither does the Palm guys. So ignorance all round.

I actually bought the program a while ago so will send the script via email. But you know you should really should be using the Indosat 3G / Huawei e220 HSDPA modem, don’t you? Browsing on the Treo’s GPRS will be very painful.
