After years of trying to hock Indo-Pacific PR to the big boys that include Hill & Knowlton, Ogilvy PR and Burson Marsteller Chad McLinsky’s finally managed to find a buyer for his company. Details of the deal are not clear. Those in the know call it a merger rather than an acquisition but since when is a merger not an acquisition?

Anyway, those in the know say that the merger is final and the buyer is Edelman. Unspun‘s sources confirmed the merger, rumors of which have been floating in town for the past few months,  although no one  is saying exactly what would  change at Indo Pac with the merger, apart from access to “international stuff”.

So it now looks like the PR scene in Indonesia is hotting up with the big boys moving into the fray. Of late we had WPP setting up Pulse, Burson establishing a office here after their spectacular implosion and pullout about a decade ago and various other firms making overtures to local PR firms here.
