Paul O’Brian has left his post as Managing Director of Indo-Pacific PR to return to banking, Unspun‘s sources say. Paul was a banker before, with Citibank, before he made the switch into PR. Now he goes back to banking with Standard Charted in Hong Kong.
There has been some speculation in the market that Paul’s departure might have been due to Indo Pacific’s acquisition by Edelman (see here). There is no evidence to support that belief though. Staffers there said that Paul had wanted to quit even before the Edelman buy-in.
There is also no news as to who will be replacing paul. A staffer said Indo Pac owner Chad McLisky is for the time being keeping a tighter leash on the business because of the recent buy in.
In the meantime Chad is also pondering who should replace the head of Stratcom, Indo Pacific’s sister company before th year is out, say Unspun‘s sources.
