Below is a selection from Sex and Science Goddess Elzabeth Pisani’s post on why Malaysian Deputy Health Minister’s exhortation to Malaysian women to carry condoms may not help them get laid, as well as the supposed sexual habits of the Malay man.

Wonder if the latter is a stretch of a claim? Unspun was always told by female friends in Malaysia that have had cross-cultural intercourse that Malay men make better lovers than their Chinese counterparts. If they are lazy then what does that make the China apek?

So even if they have a chance to have sex, they can’t necessarily translate a condom in the own purse into a condom on their partner’s penis. as one sex worker remarked to me not that long ago: “Malay men are really lazy. If they’re standing in front of you ready to play and you pull out a condom, they’re not going to fight it. Too lazy.” Bagimana, kawan kawan? Benar nggak?

  This is a awesome idea. Using condom is a safe sex. Just go for it.

  loh, haven’t Malay women heard of female condom? it’s stupid though, female already have complicated reproduction system, why shud they still have to make it more complicated. but in the case when the men are so lazy like that, perhaps that’s one solution to consider.

  Excuse me, why the responsibility falls into women, again?

  Both parties should take responsibility of practicing safe sex, both should take condoms wherever they go.

  If men are too lazy to carry condoms, just shut the door lah and say bye-bye!

  The supply of willing men is abundant. So ladies, there is no need for lazy men. The rule for guys should be: use it or beat it!

  The ones who would like to get laid should carry some condoms. The logic’s obvious.
