came on. It showed a distraught and tearful Inul shocked by the ban on her performance.
Unspun cringed when the other people working out there began commenting about Inul’s mistreatment. “Di ban i Johor?” asked a Bapak. “Oh mereka fanatik di sana ya?”
Good one Bolehlanders. Who the hell do Malaysia’s PAS and other self proclaimed champions of the Muslim faith think they are, trying to say what’s approved and appreciated by a very large portion of Indonesia, home to the world’s largest Muslim population?
Here we go again with another feat that merits Unspun’s shit-for-brains tag.
New Malaysia: Kota Baru bans lipsticks and high-heels: “Kota Baru bans lipsticks and high-heels
This is bizarre. The Kota Baru Municipal Council has issued an order to ban female workers of the MBKB and permit holders from putting on lipsticks or wearing high-heels. High heels, it seems, are too noisy with its squeaky sound and they are a distraction. Lipsticks are even more dangerous and provocative – to men, that is. According to the council president Shafie Ismail the directive was issued to prevent rapes and other immoral activities. The directive has been issued to MBKB staff and workers at restaurants and other premises, which required permits from the council. That would probably include supermarkets. That’s the whole of Kota Baru! Tony Pua has blogged about the obsession of the PAS government with dressing.”
Rocky, quoting the Star newspaper said:
“According to The Star, someone people in the DAP’s central executive committee want the party’s assemblymen in Johor NOT to wear the Songkok at the opening of the state’s legislative assembly on June 19. The Sultan of Johor is expected to be there.
If the news is true, it’s strange for the DAP to want to do that. It’s mischievous, even, especially given the Johor Sultan’s passion for the songkok .
Sure, the songkok is a Malay headgear. It is also a Malaysian headgear. No?”
The Star’s Chun Wai also thinks the Songkok is a Malay headgear.
Curiously, if you search for “songkok” in Wikipedia you are redirected to the “peci” entry as below:
So, is the songkok.peci Indonesian or Malaysian, or if you want to cut it finer, is it Indonesian muslim or Malay?
Where most Indonesians are concerned the FPI is a group of thugs using Islam as an excuse to intimidate and visit voilence on others for their own gain.
So it is a wonder why the Gvernment cannot act stright away to been the organization and the police cannot arrest the offender straight away. The police has had to give ultimatums to the FPI to hand in their members. This is sheer nonsense, the only language that the people in FPI know is force. if the government has no will to use it then the FPI will behave like dogs that do not know their master. They’ll climb over all and sundry.
The Press is also to be blamed for this sad state of affairs. One of their crimes is not exposing the issue as it is. The venerable and doddering Kompas, for instance, today talked about the police warning about “horizontal conflict.”
What does that mean? A couple having a domestic in bed? Essentially what we have are thugs whacking the shit out of members of another group. If the police cannot put a stop to it the other group will seek revenge and we’ll have a gang war. Horizontal conflict my ass.
The press is also guilty of not shaming the police into action. Wouldn’t it be great if they adopted the idea from the latest issue of Fortune highlighting corporate convicts (see photo)?
Only instead of corporate convicts they should feature pseudo-religious thugs, where are they now. Unspun’s bet is that if it ran a gallery of photos of pseudo-religious gangster convicts it would be a very short gallery. It may not even have a single person in the lineup, which is fine. The Press, if it has any imagination can run a gallery of empty spaces. That would speak volumes.
One of Unspun‘s contacts sent me this Associated Press report which, one supposes, contains a caution against the health perils of making out in a car. Only in Bolehland can such things happen.
Amorous Muslim couple try
to flee law, cause five-car pile up
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 17 (AP) – A young Muslim couple tried to
speed off when Malaysian police caught them making out in their
car but got into an accident, causing a five-car pile up, a
report said Wednesday.
A police patrol car spotted the couple locked in an intimate
embrace late Monday in their car parked at a hypermarket in Muar
town in southern Johor state, The Star newspaper said.
As the patrol car neared them, the couple sped out of the car
park onto a main road and collided with a passing car, causing
three other vehicles to crash, the report said.
The unidentified couple, both in their 20s, have been detained
and the man has been booked for reckless driving, it said.
Muar traffic police officer Lim Aik Sin told the daily that the
couple have been referred to the district Islamic religious
When most of us were enjoying our Idul Fitri holidays, a contest was in the making. On October 1, 20 finalists of the Miss Jilbab 2007 contest was selected in Surabaya. The contestant that eventually won the coveted crown-on-the-scarf was one Devi Fatin Adila. No photos could be found of the veiled beauty but here’s a Jawa Pos shot of some of the finalists.
Another reason why some of us choose to live away from Malaysia. Click on the link to The Star to see how ridiculous the Nazis-dressed-in-religious-police-garb can be. Malaysia Boleh!
The idiots even refused to touch singer Siti Nor Idayu’s (left) identity card because they said it was “unclean.”
“They put us in a tiny room and turned up the air-conditioner. I heard one officer tell the other: Bekulah dia orang (Let them freeze),” she said.
Siti Noor Idayu also said the male officers kept taking photographs of her, adding that she was made to stay overnight in that room until 10am.
She said the officer who finally came to record her statement at 8am, accused her of consuming alcohol and drugs, being involved in immoral activities, and that her MyKad was a fake.
This one earns an Unspun shit-for-brains tag.
