Facebook is getting more popular now in Indonesia, it has reached 645% growth rate last year!
At a growth rate of 645% in 2008, Indonesia has been the fastest growing country on Facebook in Southeast Asia, outpacing growth in China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.
Surprisingly, the 831,000 Indonesians on Facebook are a small minority in their own country. With 0.4% penetration, they represent just a small portion of the of 237 million people in Indonesia.
At the same time, Facebook users are also a minority compared with Friendster, the country’s most popular social networking services. Do you know how many Indonesian users already in this service now?
With over 12 million registered users in Indonesia, about 60% of Indonesia’s Internet users have a Friendster account.
