Model Nation #14: The Empire Strikes Back

Rakyat Kelantan, a blog set up by sympathizers of the Kelantan Royal family, has posted an article from Kompas quoting human rights activist Ratna Sarumpet in which she doubts the veracity of Manohara’s claims.

Ratna says Manohara looks too hale and hearty for someone who’s allegedly under torturr.

Who is right? Will the truth prevail?

Reminds Unspun of what he keeps telling crisis management clients: In a crisis-like situation perception is as important, if not more important, than the truth.Manage the perception or you have no hope of getting the truth out.

In the meantime, Unspun’s been reminded by Aulia that someone should point out that Manohara’s mum should shoulder some of the blame for wedding off her daughter when she was only 14. Don’t they have laws against such underage marriages?
