Model Nation #21: Manohara’s exclusive interview

The Jakarta Globe has published a lengthy story based on an interview with Manohara in which she alleged that the Kelantan Prince abused her with a hot iron, a cigar and razor blades. Pretty serious allegations and reminiscent of what some Malaysians do to their domestic helpers.

At the same time the Globe also carried a story of the Prince refuting the allegations and filing a police report against Manohara and mummy.

Sitting in a room in a hotel in South Jakarta is a 17-year-old girl who has travelled the world, married a prince and run away, and whose face is now famous across Indonesia. Her story is so extraordinary that it is hard to believe. Her fairytale-to-nightmare claims of a whirlwind marriage, kidnapping, abuse and escape have gripped the public, overshadowing the Ambalat row with Malaysia, upstaging the presidential election.
Used to the company of older men, a 16-year-old Manohara last August married the 30-year-old Tengku Temenggong Fakhry, a Kelantan prince. Two months later, she flew home complaining of abuse, then went back late last year. This February, she claims, she was abducted in a jet after a pilgrimage to Jeddah.

  1. I guess the photos are to represent the fact that despite the abuse she has taken control of her life back from the trauma she allegedly endured at the hands of the prince. I am also guessing that the photos are in some way empowering in that they show a beautiful young woman (or is she still a girl at 17?) who has survived.

    The saga continues.

Adopted daughter abused by stepdad and Daisy
    Frankie D’Cruz
    Friday, July 3rd, 2009 08:31:00

In one sick instance, Daisy Farajina, 44, forced ex-French husband Jurgen Reiner Noack Pinot, 66, to caress the woman’s body in front of her. Pinot, who admitted in court that he was afraid of his wife, did this after Daisy had undressed her Indonesian adopted daughter, known as Noack, an Indonesian. She then untidily cut her hair as punishment.

CRIMINAL PAST: Daisy (left) and Manohara in an undated family photo
CONTROVERSIAL Indonesian teen model Manohara Odelia Pinot’s stepfather raped her adopted sister and forced her to masturbate him, court documents reveal.

In one sick instance, Manohara’s mother Daisy Farajina, 44, forced her ex-French husband Jurgen Reiner Noack Pinot, 66, to caress the woman’s body in front of her.

Pinot, who admitted in court that he was afraid of his wife, did this after Daisy had undressed her adopted daughter, known as Noack, an Indonesian. She then untidily cut her hair as punishment. This happened when Daisy learnt about the sexual relations between Noack and her husband.

Pinot, a financial consultant, was sentenced to four months jail by a magistrate’s court in Grasse, France, last year for sexual assault.

He was also found guilty of “submitting a vulnerable person to undignified working conditions”, court documents made available to the Malay Mail revealed.

The documents, which were translated to English from French and certified by the Alliance Francaise, the official centre for the French language in Kuala Lumpur, revealed that Daisy was sentenced to 18 months jail in
absentia (without her being present) by the same court for submitting a vulnerable and dependent person to undignified working conditions and assault since 1998.

The punishing techniques of Daisy, plus the degrading living conditions of Noack, irked the court which ruled that Daisy was the main culprit.

The beatings were so severe that on the day Noack made a police report, the examining doctor justified total work incapacity of at least a week based on the bruises she suffered.

The offences occurred between April 2004 and April 2007 when they were living in Cannes.

Pinot admitted that he did not try to stop acts of violence by Daisy out of cowardice.

The documents revealed that Pinot had said his wife was out of her mind and that he was even scared of her
because she had knives and scissors in her hands.

While Pinot is believed to be living in the US now, Daisy remains a fugitive in Indonesia.

Daisy fled France after Noack denounced acts of rape and assault in a police report in April 2007.

A warrant of arrest for her was issued on June 26 the same year and she has been on Interpol’s “Red Notice” for the past one year. Interpol had asked Jakarta whether Daisy could be arrested and sent to France.

This was refused as Indonesia and France do not have a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty. Pinot had a previous conviction in May 2006 when he was sentenced by the Grasse criminal court to a suspended term of one year imprisonment and a RM15,000 fine for cheating.

Daisy met Pinot in 2001 in London and they married a year later. The disclosures come in the wake of our front-page report yesterday that Daisy and a mob assaulted a server of a legal notice at her home in Jakarta
    last Saturday.

The notice of nusyuz allegedly riled up Daisy and the server ended up in hospital badly bruised. The Syariah notice demands that Manohara, 17, return to her husband, the Tengku Temenggong Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail, 32.

The charges in full, translated and certified by Alliance Francaise, can be read here.

SETAHU SAYA MALAYSIA YANG MULA-MULA MENGGUNAKAN KATA; INDO ATAU INDON, MAKSUD ANDA SEMUA PASTI INGIN MEREMEHKAN, KENAPA SAYA KATAKAN „INGIN?“ KARENA YANG ANDA REMEHKAN ADALAH ANDA DAN BANGSA MALAYSIA SENDIRI KARENA MEREMEHKAN ORANG LAIN ATAU BANGSA LAIN, ITU JUGA MEREMEHKAN ANDA SENDIRI DAN BANGSA ANDA. BUKANKAH MENGHORMATI ORANG LAIN ATAU BANGSA LAIN, ITU BERARTI JUGA MENGHORMATI DIRI DAN BANGSA SENDIRI??? – TAPI BANYAK ORANG LUPA ATAU TIDAK TAHU AKAN HAL ITU. SEBAB ITU BANYAK YANG HANYA IKUT SEMBARANG TERIAK TANPA GUNAKAN OTAK SEDIKITPUN!

JIKA DIKATAKAN UANG (DUIT) NEGARA MALAYSIA HABIS BERJUTA-JUTA PERTAHUN UNTUK ORANG INDONESIA, PEMERINTAH ATAU ORANG MALAYSIA TIDAK KELUARKAN UANG PERCUMA ATAU SEBAGAI HADIAH UNTUK ORANG INDONESIA, TAPI APA ANDA TIDAK BUKA MATA, UANG ITU HABIS UNTUK PEMBANGUNAN DAN SEMACAMNYA, SEBENARNYA MALAYSIA BERUNTUNG DAN SEHARUSNYA SANGAT BERSUKUR KARENA TANPA TENAGA KERJA BANGSA ASING TERMASUK INDONESIA YANG DIBAYAR JAUH DIBAWAH STANDART (SANGAT MURAH), ITU NEGARA MALAYSIA TIDAK AKAN MAJU! ANDA SEKARANG MENGATAKAN; BAGUSLAH ORANG INDONESIA TIDAK DATANG, TAPI ANDA PASTI TIDAK BISA BAYANGKAN APA YANG TERJADI PADA NEGARA ANDA JIKA SEMUA TENAGA KERJA YANG DIBAYAR MURAH DARI A-Z DIPULANGKAN ATAU TIDAK DATANG LAGI. ANDA PASTI MENGIRA MALAYSIA SUPER KAYA, TAPI SAYA YAKIN MALAYSIA TIDAK AKAN MAMPU MEMBAYAR TENAGA ASING DARI EROPA ATAU SEMACAMNYA, UNTUK MENGGANTIKAN TENAGA MURAHAN DARI INDONESIA ATAU NEGARA-NEGARA LAIN YANG DIBAYAR SANGAT MURAH DIMALAYSIA, KARENA TENAGA KERJA EROPA UNTUK BUAT JALAN SAJA GAJI MEREKA PER JAMNYA PALING SEDIKIT 60€ NACH BELUM LAGI ASURANSI MEREKA, SEKARANG 60€ ITU UNTUK BAYAR TENAGA MURAHAN DARI INDONESIA MUNGKIN UNTUK DUA BULAN? JADI PIKIR BAIK-BAIK SEBELUM ANDA MEMALUKAN DIRI SENDIRI.

JIKA DIKATAKAN INDONESIA HANYA DATANG MERAMPOK, MEROGOL MENYISKA (MENDERA), MEMBUNUH MENCURI…ANDA BENAR-BENAR HARUS BELAJAR BERKATA-KATA SEBELUM ANDA MENULIS HAL DIATAS. TIDAK MUNGKIN PEMERINTAH MALAYSIA TINGGAL DIAM JIKA HAL ITU BENAR-BENAR TERJADI (SEMUA ORANG INDONESIA HANYA DATANG BERBUAT KEJAHATAN) DAN JIKA ITU TERJADI MUNGKIN ANDA TIDAK AKAN PUNYA PELUANG (MASA) MENULIS DISINI, KARENA SAYA YAKIN ANDA SUDAH LAMA IKUT TERBUNUH. INGAT SETIAP NEGARA DI DUNIA INI MEMILIKI PENDUDUK (RAKYAT) YANG BAIK DAN JUGA MEMILIKI YANG JAHAT, JADI SANGAT TIDAK SOPAN DAN MEMALUKAN ANDA DAN BANGSA SENDIRI JIKA ANDA MENGGUNAKAN KATA „ORANG INDONESIA“, KARENA SAYA YAKIN TIDAK SEMUA ORANG INDONESIA PERNAH DATANG KE MALAYSIA DAN YANG DATANG KE MALAYSIA JUGA TIDAK SEMUA BERBUAT BEGITU (JAHAT). SEKARANG SAYA BERTANYA; APAKAH SEMUA ORANG MALAYSIA BAIK?!!! SEMOGA ITU BISA JADI RENUNGAN ANDA SEMUA….

  10. Hi.. accidentally read this blog. Infact, i just wanted to know more abt the lady from indonesia, but found out that both people ( Indo Vs M’sia)have their anger in their heart. I agreed with the writer’s reply to both party that all countries, there will be good and bad ppl…we should care for each other (no matter what’s their nationality).

I’m a malaysian. I have an Indonesian maid at home, she worked for me for 3 yrs by now.I have to say, she’s one of the nicest lady/fren i met. Very caring to my children and committed to her work too. I treated her like my own family member, we celebrate her b’day for her, buy her new clothes and buy food that she likes..and even buy toys for her son whenever she balik kampung.

Be fair (excepts some are really bad hearted), i guess majority of the human is like this, if u respect and be nice to them, they will be nice/good to you in return.

Malaysia did have increasing crime now, unable to admit , some are done by Indonesian ppl and of course there’re malaysian too. I just hope, no matter what, please let the world be a safe place!!
