Over, the Top?

The Indonesian papers are now saying that police have confirmed that Malaysian terrorist Noordin Top has been killed. Reports of Noordin’s death in the past have been highly exaggerated, so take this piece of news for all its worth.

Noordin M Top Killed, Says Indonesian Police Chief

Noordin M Top is among the terror suspects killed in a raid overnight in Solo, Central Java, said National Police chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri on Thursday.

Noordin is one of the most wanted terrorists in the region. He is believed to be the mastermind of at least five terrorist attacks in Indonesia, including the Bali bombing and the attacks at two luxury hotels in Jakarta in July.

Police stormed a house on the outskirts of the city at around 7:00 a.m. after a nine-hour siege. Solo is a longtime stronghold of the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) radical network.

Three other terror suspects were killed and three arrested in the raid. Also among the dead is Bagus Budi Pranoto or Urwah, a man wanted by police in connection with the July hotel bombings in Jakarta, Bambang said.

The other two killed in the raid were Hadi Susilo and Aryo Sudarsono, alias Aji.

The fingerprints of one of the people killed in the raid matched Noordin’s fingerprints in the Malaysian National Police database, he added.

  1. This is really a Good news! Our Indonesian neighbor could celebrate Hari Raya without fear of being bombed.

Actually, this is a stupid terrorist act. Why Nordin bomb the Indonesian hotels?? Come back here to bomb our landmark structures lah. At least, our Home Minister would tried to rehabilitate him & he would not got “kill”, right. I’m being sarcastic here.
