Workers of the world communicate!

Have been serving as a faciliator at the International Labor Organization’s 2-day workshop on Communications Training for Social Partners at Le Meridien starting today and must say it is good fun as well as educational.

It’s one of the few forums I’ve been in where participants from from private secotr businesses, labor organizations and activists and government officials mingle and learn together.

Leading the workshop is Emmy award broadcast journalist Eric May, formerly of CBS but now wortks as a consultant and based in Germany. Facilitating the workshop are SCTV News Producer Adi Prasetya,  Jakarta Post Oped Editor Kornelius Purba, Toto from Smart FM and, Abdullah Alamundi from IPML, the ILO’s Kevin Cassidy and yours truly.

Apart from the learning, it was also a very useful event. How often do you get to rub shoulders with trade unionists and activists, senior journalists, business communicators, ILO officials and the single PR hack?

One response to “Workers of the world communicate!”

  1. hey bro, how are you? just to let you know that the tenaga nasional board decided yesterday (or was it day b4) that they will pay off pak robert us$34 million under a bail out scheme for tnb coal. that’s big money, man. interestingly, this pak robert will still be on tenaga’s unofficial payroll! (i was told he’ll be paid us$10K a month, also big money, man).
