Coming from Jakarta one of the main differences you would find in KL is that the city has parks where people can enjoy nature, a stroll or a place to unwind.
My mother moved into Taman Tun Dr Ismail recently and I’ve been here to help supervise the movers (someone has to do the tough job). Nearby are two parks. One is a forest reserve and the other is replete with lake, stream, fountains, trees, scrub and an excellent walking path.
I’ve been often critical of Malaysia but this is one of those areas where I think it has done very well – creating green lungs in the middle of the city. Now if only the Jakarta authorities could learn from the cousins from across the Straits.
