Belated Christmas Greetings and while we’re at it, Happy New Year too. Unspun has been out of the internet loop, through Christmas and until today, visiting relatives and special people outside Jakarta.
But even Unspun was not able to escape the ubiquitous SMS greeting, which Unspun does not really mind because he’s out of Jakarta and therefore in a mellow mood. Not so Unspun’s friend PeeKay though.
Stuck in Jakarta because work calls, and therefore in a foul mood, Peekay has been ranting to Unspun by SMS about SMS Christmas greetings. No doubt he’ll unleash another bout of rants over the new year.
His beef? “Flacks, hacks and distant contacts loosed a blizzard of unseemly gush unseen in previous years. I was referred to more than once as a point of light in the darkness and that didn’t fit my profile. ” Unspun concurs that Peekay is anything but a point of light. More like a dark star.
“Did people get this crud free with a ring tone or was everybody channeling Hallmark rejects due to some new air-borned toxin?”
Unspun thinks that Peekay is a bit grumpish this holiday season. Bu he has a point. Where do people get all those gushy cliches, and where do they get the idea that forwarding such cliches would put them ingood stead with their friends or people they want to get on thegood books of?
