Ball kicker


In the version of this piece of news in The jakarta Post today the Malaysian Minister was quoted to have threatened bloggers that they would all be monitored.

Unspun wonders why monitoring would be a threat to any Malaysian blogger worth their RSS since they all blog on the assumption that the Special Branch is keeping tabs on them anyway.

Bloggers slammed

KOTA TINGGI: Rumour-mongering bloggers are cowards and a nuisance to Umno, said Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman.

Azalina, who is Youth and Sports Minister, said the opposition parties were using the blogs because they know that the Home Affairs Ministry was busy monitoring reports in the mainstream media.

“They think they can get away with it but it is not the case as they too are being monitored,” she said after launching the National Sports Institute satellite centre here.

Asked on the personal attacks against her, Azalina said it was part and parcel of politics.

“The most important thing is that the leadership knows your capability and wants to retain you.

“I get more pahala (blessings) everyday with all the lies spread about me, especially by bloggers,” she said.

    Obviously she was upset because there were blogs that portrayed her alternative lifestyle preferences. And this is putting it kindly! 🙂

    I keep reading something about “lesbo” and other similar type descriptions. Is she really a Lesbian? And where is the “proof”? Under Human Rights, where is there a Law against Lesbianism? Doesn’t she (if true) have a right to freely practice Lesbianism? just like the bus-loads of “ah kua’s” behind Dataran Merdeka?

    @bayi, MC: Agree with bayi as to the type of blog postings that probably set her off. Agree too with MC that if she’s lesbian it shouldn’t make a difference to how we look at her and her political performance.

    What’s a person’s sexual preference got to do with the price of fish?
