Jakarta, 31/5 (Antara) The Religious Affairs Office (KUA) charges double for couples registering their wedding that has happen due to accidental reasons, such as pregnancy outside a marriage.
“The fee for such a couple is quite something at IDR 1.5 million (USD162) and the number of those couples in Jakarta is relatively high. The fee for normal wedding registration is IDR 700,000,” said an employee at a KUA branch in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, who wished to remain anonymous.
The employee revealed that the treatment and the cost for couples registering accidental marriages is different than that for normal registration. This is because the former usually requires much faster administration process compared to the latter.
