Tired of being misquoted? Perhaps there’s a way out


The traditional way of getting publicity for a business is to submit its CEO or spokesperson to a media interview. Then brace themselves for a possible misquote from the journalist or some information to be taken out of context.

Well, with the internet and blogs that may not necessarily be the case anymore. Some interviewees, as Steve Rubel in Micro Persuasion points out, are taking control by insisting that the interviews be conducted over e-mail. That way they have a record.
