Today the Jakarta Foreign Correspondents’ Club has had to postpone for the second time a talk by Coordinating Minister Aburizal Bakrie.

The first postponment was on Monday. Today they said that the talk would have to be postponed till at least next month.

Unspun wonders if this talk will happen at all.  There are too many questions that Bakrie would find inconvenient if faced with questions from critical and skeptical  journalists, such as his role and responsibility in the Lapindo affair, his/family’s business dealings, his move into mining, his performance as a Minister….

Bakrie is either very confident and very smart or very deluded by his own abilities and perceptions about himself to agree to talk at the JFCC lunch. One wonders which is which?

Meanwhile, any takers on whether bakrie will appear before the JFCC next month?
