There is a lesson here somewhere for those who believe in justice and that companies must protect their brands, or customers will take flight.
Bloomberg interviewed Adam Air President Director Adam Suherman and he told them that the crash of KI 574 (which is still missing) will not affect the airline’s expansion plans. The airline plans to add another 60 airplanes over the next five years, he was quoted as saying.
“The accident [KI 574] hasn’t affected our business, ” he said, adding that the carrier was currently looking for a strategic investor to fuel its expansion plans. If he expressed any sympathy, empathy or regret about the fate of the passengers of KI 574 and their families, it wasn’t reflected in the story.
Perhaps Adam, like Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Aburizal Bakrie has the unique capacity to see victims of misfortune smiling when others can’t.
BTW it is now about one and a half months since KI 574 went missing and the President ordered the Transport Minister to conduct an investigation into the airline industry. Unspun hasn’t heard of any progress on that front. Has anyone? If not, why isn’t the Press doing their job and find out?
