New Malaysian journalist-blogger to emerge in Year of the Pig?

Unspun‘s been pigging out because its Chinese New Year and Unspun‘s mom makes a mean laksa. In the midst of this celebration of the Year of the Pig Unspun’s heard that a new blogger will emerge in Malaysia after the Chinese New Year festivities die down.

The blogger is a senior and very well-connected journalist with quite a high public profile. S/he’s likely to occupy the ground somewhere between Rocky Bru and Screenshots on one hand and Kali and Brendan on the other. Should be interesting grup dynamics if s/he enters the Malaysian blogosphere, but it remains to be seen whether the potential blogger will follow up on what Unspun picked up over a nasi lemak breakfast.

In the meantime, Gong Xi Fa Cai people.

Ponco – be fair to Unspun – I’ve worked hard to achieve the standards of silliness and annoyance, please give me some credit.

2007 looks to be a year of rcckoning, and collision between the old and the new in the media.

It’ll be interesting to see how the authorities in Malaysia Cope.

Interesting link on ‘convergence’ by a businesweek blogger below. BW has bucked the trend of magazines – backward thinking, stuck in the past, and signed up Bloggers. (If FEER had done it, maybe it would still be around).

This post talks about Gannet Co’s attempt at convergence in the ‘States.
