Whatever the Vice President was smoking when he said what was said below, Unspun would like some of it. Provided, of course, that it’s legal and you don’t need to inhale.
The VP aside, isn’t it refreshing to have a drug official so candid about the effects of marijuana? Tomi Harjatno from Indonesia’s National Drugs Agency actually said that the “effects of marijuana were not as harmful as perceived by the public” and that Indonesia should think of legalizing it.
He’s the first honest drugs official there is. Most of them join in demonizing the Weed so that they can boost their own importance and increase their jurisdictions. Most of them also are either hypocrites or have never been young, foolish, adventurous and lived life to the hilt.
Marijuana OK for seasoning: Kalla
M. Taufiqurrahman, The Jakarta Post, SukabumiVice President Jusuf Kalla rejected a proposal to legalize marijuana, but said it was alright for food seasoning.
“There is no way (we can legalize marijuana). It’s alright to use it as a food seasoning, but it should not be fully legalized,” Kalla told reporters at the commemoration of International Anti-Drug Day on Tuesday in Sukabumi, West Java.
Kalla was responding to a study by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Indonesian National Institute on Drug Abuse (INIDA), which considers the legalization of marijuana.
Tomi Harjatno, a drug expert from BNN, said Indonesia should follow the example of countries such as the Netherlands, which has legalized the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.
Tomi said the effects of marijuana were not as harmful as perceived by the public. |
