Indonesia’s most controversial minister to face journos?

The Jakarta Foreigh Corrrespondents Club has managed to secure the agreement of Health Minister Siti Fadillah Supari to speak before journalists, diplomatic types, ill disguised spooks and assorted NGO types next week.

Siti, whom the JFCC calls Indonesia’s most controversial minister, and whom less skilled in diplomatese usually call an incompetent, idiot or some emotive expression that cannot be repeated in mixed company, will speak to the assembled on “her crusade against the World Health Organisation and what she is doing to stop Bird Flu and Malaria.”

Should be a great opportunity for her critics to ask her the though questions. Unspun knows at least one or two US diplomatic tyoes that must love to ask her about Namru. Be there, if you don’t have a date with Bill Gates at the Government Leaders Forum.

Day/date : Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Time        : 12-2 PM
Venue     : Intercontinental Jakarta Midplaza, Asoka room,3rd floor
Cost       : 180,000 for JFCC members, 320,000 for non-members
